Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning at a nightclub in South port after allegedly assaulting a young male. Gerrard spent the night in the cells with six other of his friends. A seven on one attack, what has Stevie lowered himself too, I support Liverpool and I think that it is a disgrace that the CAPTAIN of the team is getting himself arrested. If Stevie ever read this he should make this his ONE AND ONLY arrest.

Fabregas Out for Four Months

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is out for four months due to serious knee ligament damage. Fabegas suffered this injury n Arenal 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday when he went into a tackle with fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso. This means that Fabregas will miss matches champions leage last-16, quarter finals, semi finals, FA-Cup fourth and fifth round if Arsenal get tat far and he will also miss Arsenal’s next Premier Leage match with Liverpool

Zaluska Signs Pre-Contract with Hoops

Dundee United’s polish goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has signed a pre-contract with Glasgow Celtic. Zaluska joined Dundee United in January 2007 and will remain with them until June 1st 2009 when he officially becomes a Celtic player. Celtic have said that they have signed him because they would like to have some back-up for there current number 1 Artur Boruc, a fellow polish goalkeeper.

Utd Clinch World Club Championship

Wayne Rooney scored the only goal in Man Utd’s World Club Championship Final match against Ecuadorean side Liga De Quito. Manchester United dominated the first half but failed to sore a goal as Quito’s goalkeeper Jose Cevellos put in an outstanding performance in the first and second halfs. Unfortunately for Utd Nemanja Vidic got himself sent-off shortly after the restart when he elbowed Quitos Claudio Bieler in the face, and to be honest Bieler made an absolute meal of it, ( and no, I don’t support united, I support Liverpool). Quitos defence was broken on the 73rd minute Cristiano Ronaldo embarrassed the defence and then teed up Wayne Rooney to slot it in.

A thoroughly deserved win with Ronaldo as my man of the match as he demolished Quitos defence ” Over,and over and over again” ( as Geraldine McQueen would say). The final score was 1-0 to Utd but it could have, should have been a lot, lot more.

Drogba Pleads Guilty

Didier Drogba has pleaded guilty to the FA on a charge of violent conduct. He also admitted that he was wrong to throw a coin back at the Burnley supporter who threw it at him. A Chelsea spokesperson has said,” Didier Drogba has responded to the FA’s charge of violent conduct and will not contest it.” This came while Drogba was celebrating his goal against Burnley last Wednesday when he was almost struck by a coin. Drogba then lifted it up , made a rude gesture with his hands and threw it back. Drogba apologised immediately after the match and is facing a possible 3-match ban but The Metropolitan Police are still carrying on with their inquiry. I just hope that for his sake the Police don’t take further action.

Mancienne Gets England Call-Up What is Capello Thinking

Young Chelsea Defender Michael Mancienne who is currently on loan at championship side Wolves and has never played a game for Chelsea has been called up to the senior England squad after impressing Capello at several Under-21 outings. Aston Villa strikers Gabby Agbonlahor and Ashley Young have been called up along with Daren Bent and Jermaine Defoe. David Beckham and Michael Owen have been overlooked again. Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney have been ruled out by Sir Alex Ferguson and even though John Terry is in the squad he is not likely to play.

So who will be captain Gerrard ? Lampard? Barry? or Bridge.

So as you can see my first week didn’t go too well as I only got one out of 8 right. I nearly got the Chelsea match right and I got the Newcastle and Portsmouth ones mixed up. I ws miles off in the Man Utd match and in the Tottenham match. Finally I got the two amounts off goals in the Blackburn vs Sunderland game.

Vagner Love has said,” The only real offer that I have got is from Everton and I have not yet been contacted by Real Madrid but I am sure that it is every pro footballers dream to play for a giant club like Real Madrid. I am sure that it would improve my international prospects as I would love to get into the Brazil team and I am sure that if I was scoring goals for a European giant like Real Madrid I would get called up.” I myself think that Vagner Love needs to build his way up the ladder and going to Everton would have been a good start.
